1.The Gentlemen ransomware group claims to have hacked Garuda Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia is the country’s flag carrier, founded in 1947, operates domestic and international flights, and is a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance. Its hub is at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.

Airlines and transportation organizations are considered attractive targets for ransomware groups due to their sensitive information, high operational dependency, and public pressure.

Even when there is no operational downtime, the mere threat of a leak can create significant pressure.

2.French National Bank Account Database (FICOBA) Hacked – 1.2 million Accounts Exposed

French authorities have announced that a malicious party has managed to gain unauthorized access to part of the National Bank Account Database (FICOBA), one of the country’s most sensitive databases, which includes data on all bank accounts in France.

– The database includes information on over 80 million citizens.

– According to authorities, 1.2 million records were exposed in the incident.

– The attacker posed as a civil servant with access privileges as part of an inter-ministerial information exchange.

– Using the privileges, queries were made for information from the database.

– Types of information exposed: bank account numbers, account holder names, addresses, and in some cases also tax ID numbers

The cyber teams of the French Ministry of Finance together with the national cyber agency ANSSI are involved in investigating the incident and hardening the systems.

3.Ransomware group INC claims hacking of the airline Air Côte d’Ivoire and Valgo SA

The ransomware group INC announced that it had carried out a cyber-attack against the airline Air Côte d’Ivoire, which operates in Africa and Europe.

and the environmental services company Valgo SA, which claims hundreds of gigabytes of sensitive information were extracted.

– According to the publication, over 487GB of corporate data was leaked.

– The data includes financial documents, contracts, customer information and internal correspondence.

– The publication also mentioned NDA agreements, accounting documents and project documentation.

4.A cyber-attack hit medical device manufacturer UFP Technologies, and information was stolen

UFP Technologies reported that attackers penetrated its corporate network, stole data and even deleted some of the information, a move that indicates a significant attack and not just silent access to the systems.

The incident caused disruptions in operations, including damage to billing, ordering and shipping systems, and directly affected the company’s operational capacity.

5.Ransomware attack on a medical center in the US shuts down clinics

University of Mississippi Medical Center was forced to close clinics and disconnect systems after a ransomware attack hit the corporate network.

IT teams have isolated systems to prevent further spread, and the investigation is still looking into whether patient data was stolen.

6.PayPal reveals data breach of personal data exposed

PayPal said that personal data of users was exposed following unauthorized access that lasted several months. The data includes personal details, but not passwords or payment details.

Affected users have been notified and advised to take protective measures.

7.Data leak in French banking registry affects 1.2 million accounts

A central database used by banks in France has been hacked, exposing personal and financial data of about 1.2 million accounts.

The incident raises concerns about fraud attempts and targeted phishing against customers.
