4 – Cyber-attack on the Kane school in the USA The Kane school district was recently the victim of a cyber-attack that resulted in the theft of approximately 2.1 million dollars.

The breach was discovered by the school’s Unit 29 with its banking partners and exposed a series of fraudulent electronic bank transfers.

According to a news release from the school district, after discovering the theft, it acted quickly to prevent further unauthorized transactions. They immediately reported the incident to the bank, insurance provider, and local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Kane School District officials continue to work closely with law enforcement to fully investigate this cyberattack.

US semiconductor supplier Microchip Technology Incorporated has confirmed that employee information was stolen from systems affected in an August cyberattack, later claimed by the Play ransomware gang.

On August 20, Microchip Technology disclosed that operations at several manufacturing facilities were affected by a cyber-attack discovered on August 17.

The incident affected the company’s ability to fulfill orders and forced it to shut down some of its systems and isolate those affected to contain the breach.
