Not only because of the privacy of residents, but also because the payment and claims processing systems, which are a significant part of the medical payments processing industry, were down for a long time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2 &#8211; Ransomhub names Australian company Medisecure as a victim.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In May, the company reported a ransomware attack that compromised 12.9 million medical records.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Ransomhub claims to have 1.9TB of data from the company&#8217;s network.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3 &#8211; The University of Texas Medical Center reports a patient data leak following a ransomware attack.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The center&#8217;s official report states that during September 2024, an unauthorized party accessed the corporate network and stole information from approximately 1.4 million patients.<\/p>\n<p>The stolen information includes, among other things, personal details and sensitive medical information.<\/p>\n<p>The Interlock attack group claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming to have stolen 2.6TB of information.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4 &#8211; Phreesia, a company that provides technological services to the healthcare sector, reports a data leak involving approximately 910,000 patients following a hack of a subsidiary.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A report states that the subsidiary ConnectOnCall, which provides various medical services through a call center, identified that an unauthorized party accessed the company&#8217;s databases between February and May 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately upon detection, Phreesia disabled ConnectOnCall services until the investigation is complete.<\/p>\n<p>The leaked information includes sensitive personal information<\/p>\n<h3><strong>5 &#8211; Telecom Namibia is suffering from a ransomware attack carried out by the Hunters group.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The company&#8217;s CEO reports that they are doing everything they can to deal with the attack.<\/p>\n<p>The Hunters group claims that it stole hundreds of GB of information, including sensitive information.<\/p>\n<p>Telecom Namibia is a government-controlled company that provides communication services to hundreds of thousands of citizens in the state of Namibia.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>6 &#8211; The state of Rhode Island in the US reports that attackers broke into internal systems and stole sensitive information from residents.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>An official state report claims that information about the attack was provided to the state by Deloitte.<\/p>\n<p>A few days after the initial report, the attackers shared additional information with the company, which was passed on to state officials who reviewed and confirmed the attack.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>7 &#8211; Auto parts giant LKQ reports that its Canadian business unit was hacked, and attackers stole information.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The company reports to the US stock exchange that the attack and attempts to deal with it are causing disruptions to business operations.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>8 &#8211; Japanese gaming company Kadokawa Games pays ransom to Russian hackers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A major Japanese media company known for producing video games has paid Russian-linked hackers nearly $3 million after a data breach earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The attackers initially demanded a ransom of $8.25 million.
