Weekly Cybersecurity Report | Week 50, 2024<\/h2>\n

Information security updates and events from the past week<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1 – Attack group Abyss announces Pez as a victim.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pez is known for its candy and candy “cartridges” that it produces around the world.<\/p>\n

Abyss claims to have 1.1TB of data that it will release within days if the ransom is not paid.<\/p>\n

2 – Krispy Kreme, a chain of coffee shops and donut shops, reports to the US stock exchange that it has suffered a cyberattack<\/strong><\/h3>\n

According to the company, which operates thousands of stores and employs tens of thousands of employees, the attack is causing disruption to some of the company’s services, mainly online orders.<\/p>\n

At this point, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n

3 – Kurita America, a subsidiary of Japanese company Kurita Water, reports that it has suffered a ransomware attack.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In a report published by the company, it states that sensitive information was leaked following the attack, but recovery efforts are ongoing and the impact on ongoing operations is minimal.<\/p>\n

4 – Electrica Group, which supplies electricity to millions of residents in Romania, reports that it has suffered a ransomware attack.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The company states that its operating systems were not affected, so the electricity supply continues as usual, but it is working with various experts to address the incident.<\/p>\n

5 – Artivion reports to the US stock exchange that it has suffered a ransomware attack during which files were stolen and encrypted.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The company, which manufactures and supplies advanced medical equipment and devices, reports that the attack has caused disruptions in orders and deliveries but does not expect a significant financial impact.<\/p>\n

6 – 8base Group announces the port of Rijeka, the largest port in Croatia, as a victim.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The port’s CEO confirms the hack and the data leak but claims that there is no impact on ongoing operations (which likely indicates that encryption was not implemented).<\/p>\n

7 – Community Hospital in Watsonville, California, reports disruptions following a cyberattack.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The hospital notes that there are delays in providing treatment following the attack but emphasizes that the hospital continues to provide ongoing medical care.<\/p>\n

At this point, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n

8 – Extensive disruptions have been felt in recent days in the services of Gazprombank in Russia due to a DDoS attack carried out by Ukraine.<\/strong><\/h3>\n
