1 – The Christie’s art auction chain was hit by a cyber attack<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Auction house Christie’s told the BBC it was under a “technological security incident”.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But bids can still be submitted by phone and in person, as usual.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2 – Helsinki suffers from an information security breach<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Municipality of Helsinki is investigating a data breach in the Education Division that affected tens of thousands of students, guardians, and staff members.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the details disclosed today, the attacker gained access to a network drive after exploiting a vulnerability in a remote access server.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3 – Ascension Healthcare disables systems following a cyber attack<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

One of the largest private healthcare systems in the United States, Ascension, has disabled some of its systems to investigate what it describes as a “cyber security incident.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a major not-for-profit healthcare system in the US, Ascension operates 140 hospitals and 40 senior care facilities in 19 states and the District of Columbia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It also employs 8,500 suppliers, has 35,000 affiliated suppliers and 134,000 partners. In 2023, it reported total revenues of $28.3 billion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 – British Columbia is investigating cyber-attacks on government networks<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The British Columbia government is investigating several “cyber security incidents” that affected the Canadian province’s government networks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister David Ivey said in a statement on Wednesday that there was no evidence that the attackers accessed or stole sensitive information from the affected networks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, an ongoing investigation is assessing the impact of the incidents and examining what, if any, data may have been accessed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5 – Poland claims that a state-backed terror group linked to Russia’s military intelligence service (GRU) attacked Polish government institutions this week.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

According to evidence found by CSIRT MON, the country’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (led by the Polish Minister of National Defense) and CERT Polska (the Polish Computer Emergency Response Team), Russian state hackers APT28 attacked several government institutions on a large scale in a phishing campaign.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The impersonated emails attempted to trick recipients into clicking on a link that would give them access to more information about a “mysterious Ukrainian woman” selling “used underwear” to “senior authorities in Poland and Ukraine.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
